Via Alexandrina in Rome

Via Alessandrina was the main road of Rome in the quarter of the same name. The road was built in the second half of the 16th century by Cardinal Michele Bonelli, a native of the province of Alexandria, and named after him.

The street is what remains of an area that was completely destroyed in the 1930s for the opening of the Via Delle Imperiale, today's Via dei Fori Imperiali.

Via Alessandrina was renovated and reopened in October 2013. Today the street is part of the Via dei Fori Imperiali walking route. From here you have a magnificent view of the excavations of Fori Imperiali and the market of Trajan.
